Karoo Haze

Memories of a place can often form a basis for an artwork which is the case here. The irregular but rather sombre vistas permanently edged in my memory of the beauty of the hills surrounding Bethulie, a small historic Karoo town in the Free State province. The rough landscape coupled with the subtle multicoloured  layers in the sky pretty much sets the scene for this unpredictable but breathtaking terrain.
